Everyone please take a moment to sign this petition letting everyone know you are against deregulating the field of interior design!

Please help me to stop Florida Interior Design Deregulation by going to the link below and signing the petition.  Thank you in advance! Our goal is to reach 20,000 signatures and we need more support. You can read more and sign the petition here:

Please forward to anyone who may be affected by the deregulation of Interior Designers, and share the link if you’re inclined – we need as many signatures as possible. You do not have to be a designer to sign this petition please send it to your friends and family that support interior design.

Thank you!!!

I adore whimsical inspirational images and this one is even better because it has a short video! Check out Mandy Smith’s short video called The Move. She designed and created the set completely out of paper! Wonderful.

I love when I can share news about our recent interior design graduates and how they are progressing in the business! This week I want to spot light Connie Riik who graduated from our program about 2-years ago. Since then she has worked for Mr. Ward Lariscy and formed her own interior design business called CSR interiors. Click here to visit her company website which spotlights her portfolio and design services.  Connie also keeps a design blog that I encourage you to check out on a regular basis called Fabulous and Splendid.  Her most recent post highlights mudrooms but if you scroll through the other posts you will see other featured design trends such as ruffles and color trends. I hope you will all take the time to visit Connie’s sites and leave her words of encouragement!

I wanted to share with you a post from local Jacksonville designer Phoebe Howard’s blog Mrs. Howard Personal Shopper. It discusses finding inspiration away from the computer. I think this is a great idea because it is not until we truly see things in person that we can fully appreciate and learn from them. I think you will all find it very interesting and I encourage you to check it out. Click here to go directly to the post.

Google SketchUp just released their monthly newsletter and I was excited to see that there is a new Google sketchUp resource featuring tutorials for interior designers. There are 4 books available on Amazon and they were all written by interior designer and architect Adriano Granados. To see the full blog post click here and if you are interested in purchasing the tutorials on Amazon then click here.
