Often times I find that students are unsure of what career track they want to follow upon graduation from their design program. Interior design is an interesting field in the sense that it does not have a cut and dry path. Sure many students want to graduate and begin working for a design firm while others may want to continue their education, or follow a route where they work in design sales, drafting, etc. I wanted to share with all of you the Careers in Interior Design website, as I think it has some excellent information that helps to define interior design and breaks it down into different categories. I encourage you all to check it out and then go to the NCIDQ website to learn about the exam the requirements that designers must pass to qualify for state licensing. It is important to be informed and to understand all the various areas and professional requirements it takes to become an interior designer.
